Former Irrigation Minister Umesh Kumar Yadav has filed his nomination from Saptari Constituency No. 2 in the upcoming House of Representatives elections. He joined the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal from the NCP two weeks ago. He filed his nomination from the JSP on Tuesday.
Elected from Saptari-3 in the 2070 BS Constituent Assembly elections, he contested the elections in 2074 BS along with JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav. Umesh, who contested from the then CPN-Maoist Center, received 11,579 votes, while Upendra received 21,620 votes.
There are a total of 105,922 voters here, including 56,400 men, 49,520 women and 2 others.
