Dr. Firdos Alam has filed his candidacy from the Nepali Congress in Rautahat-2. Dr. Firdos, who is also the son of former minister and Nepali Congress leader Mohammad Aftab Alam, has filed his candidacy for the House of Representatives election to be held on Falgun 21.

Congress has fielded Dr. Firdos as its candidate . In the previous election, Alam was defeated by Kiran Sahasit of CPN-UML . Sah has left UML and registered his candidacy from Nepali Communist Party this time .  

Congress has also given ticket to Dr. Firdos this time . His father Mohammad Aftab Alam died three months ago . During the previous election, his father Aftab was in Nakkhu Jail in the Rajpur bomb blast incident .
