The Nepali Congress has changed its candidate in Kailali Constituency No. 4.
After Bir Bahadur Balayer, who was previously nominated as a candidate, announced on Tuesday afternoon that he would not participate in the election contest, the Congress has put forward Gorakh Bahadur Bista 'Ananda' as the new candidate.
According to party sources, after Balayer's decision, the decision to make Bista a candidate was made through discussions with the central leadership. Balayer is said to have decided to withdraw from the election citing personal and political reasons.
The new candidate, Bista, was once working in the Nepal Family Planning Association. He is currently the chairman of the Nepali Congress America Public Relations Committee. In addition, he was also a general convention representative from the Deuba faction in the 13th general convention of the Congress.
Apart from Balayer, the names of Vijay Kunwar, Lokraj Pandey, Dinesh Joshi and Tekraj Joshi were also in the news for the House of Representatives elections from this constituency.
