Out of the 9 candidates, 3 are old faces while 6 are debut candidates.
Nine candidates have filed their candidacies in the Himalayan district of Dolpa. All of them reached the office of the Chief Electoral Officer on Tuesday and filed their candidacies.
Chief Election Officer Damodar Padel informed that Dhan Bahadur Budha from the NCP, Lanka Bahadur Rokaya from the UML, Karna Bahadur Budha from the Nepali Congress, Dil Bahadur Bista from the Ujjain Nepal Party, Bikash Budha from the Progressive Democratic Party, Dev Singh Aidi from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Hari Prasad Dangi from the RPP and Omendra Bahadur KC from the Independent have registered their nomination papers to become candidates.
In Dolpa, which has one constituency, there are both new and old faces who have registered their nomination papers for candidates.
Out of the 9 candidates, 3 are old faces while 6 are debut candidates. Budha from the Nepali Communist Party, Budha from the Nepali Congress and Bista from the Ujjain Nepal Party are old faces.
Budha from the Nepali Communist Party has been elected as a member of parliament three times before. He is contesting for the fourth time. His brother Budha from the Congress contested the election from the RPP in 2064 BS and lost. Bista from the Ujjain Nepal Party lost the election from the Congress and the Independent in the previous federal elections.
Similarly, UML's Rokay is a new face. He is contesting the election for federal MP for the first time.
Pragatisheel's Budha, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's Aidee, RPP's Dangi, Miteri Party's Junu and Swatantra's KC have also filed their candidacies in the federal elections for the first time.
KC, who has filed his candidacy as an independent, is also a leader of the Nepali Communist Party. He has filed his rebel candidacy against his own party's candidate Dhan Bahadur Budha.
