On Tuesday, 157 candidates registered their candidacies from 5 constituencies in Rupandehi for the House of Representatives elections. The main political parties, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Nepali Communist Party, National Independent Party, RPP, JSP, Janamorcha, as well as new parties, Ujjaya Nepal Party, Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party, and others, have registered their candidacies.

There are 2/2 female candidates in Constituency No. 1 and 3, 10 in Constituency No. 2, and 3/3 in Constituency No. 4 and 5.

The highest number of 41 candidates have filed their candidacies from Rupandehi Constituency No. 2. There are 20 independent and 10 female candidates. Candidates from 21 parties including UML Vice President and former Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Congress' Chunna Prasad Poudel, Raswpa's Sulabh Kharel, Nepal Janasewa Party's Kamal Bhusal (Nicholas), NCP's Subash Pandey (Bishwadeep), and RPP's Karvika Thapa have filed their candidacies. Election Officer Rajendra Neupane said that 10 female candidates have registered their candidacies in Constituency No. 2. There are 135,050 voters in Constituency No. 2. 

In Constituency No. 1, 31 candidates have filed their candidacies, including Hira Bahadur KC from Nepali Congress, Dadhiram Neupane from UML, Sunil Lamsal from RSP, Ghanshyam Yadav from NCP, Mohammad Aslam Khan from JSP, and Prajwal Bohara from RPP. There are 146,824 voters in Constituency No. 1. There are only 2 female candidates in this constituency.

In Constituency No. 3, which has 144,350 voters, Sushil Gurung from Nepali Congress, Basudev Ghimire from UML, Dr. Lekhjung Thapa from RSP, Gaurav Bohara from RPP, and Faiz Ahmed Khan from NCP have filed their candidacies. There are only 3 female candidates. In Constituency No. 4, which has 116,172 voters, 22 candidates have filed their candidacies, including Ashutosh Mishra from Nepali Congress, Pramod Kumar Yadav from UML, Babulal Yadav from NCP, Kanhaiya Baniya from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Bhopendra Yadav from Janmat Party, and Sarbendra Nath Shukla from JSP Nepal. There are 3 female candidates. Yadav, who became a candidate from UML, left Nepali Congress on Tuesday and joined UML. Similarly, Baniya, who became a candidate from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), resigned from his position as a member of the Provincial Assembly and became a candidate.

Similarly, in Constituency No. 5, which has 134,442 voters, only 3 of the 27 candidates, including Bharat Shah from Nepali Congress, Khimlal Bhattarai from UML, Taufiq Ahmed Khan from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohammad Wakil Musalman from NCP, and Min Prasad Ghimire from RPP, are women.
