For the House of Representatives elections to be held on 21 Falgun, 10 million ballot papers have been printed for the proportional representation. There are 18.9 million 3,589 voters. The Election Commission has assigned the responsibility of printing the ballot papers to Janak Shiksha Kendra. The printing of the ballot papers is being done under the security of the Nepali Army.
7 percent more ballot papers will be printed than the number of voters. Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said that half of the stipulated number has been printed. 1.3 million ballot papers are being printed daily. The commission has set a target of printing all the ballot papers for the proportional representation by 9th Magh. However, with an average of 1.3 million being printed daily and 10 million ballot papers still to be printed, it seems that it may take 3-4 days more.
Nominations for the direct category will be held on 6th Magh. After the claim-objection and nomination withdrawal program, the direct category ballot papers will be printed after the election symbols are given to the candidates on 9th Magh. The ballot papers for both the parties will be sent to the office of the election officer of the respective constituency district-wise.
