The National Independent Party (NIP) has nominated Binita Kathayat as its candidate in Jumla for the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21. Party President Ravi Lamechhane has given Binita a letter of recommendation as a direct candidate for the House of Representatives.
Kathayat, who became a proportional representation MP in 2079 BS, has been raising her voice in the parliament on issues ranging from preserving the Khas language to promoting tourism in Karnali. Kathayat, who is also a former MP, informed that she has received the ticket.
She said that she has been encouraged to identify and solve common problems by advocating for the eradication of corruption, establishment of good governance, and a people-friendly system. ‘Change cannot be stopped now,’ she said, ‘The responsibility of deciding to build our future with our own votes is in the hands of the people.’
Earlier, the CPN-UML has recommended Shantilal Mahat and the Nepali Communist Party has recommended Naresh Bhandari as candidates.
