Congress Palpa Secretary Sunita Adhikari said that the candidates for both constituencies were finalized only late on Monday. Rana, who got the ticket for Palpa Constituency No. 1, is a Nepali Congress Lumbini Province member and the president of the International BP Chintan Pratishthan.

He is also known as a social worker in the eastern part of Palpa. He was a proportional candidate in the 2079 BS House of Representatives member election and is going to contest the parliamentary election directly for the first time.

Shrestha, who got the ticket for Palpa Constituency No. 2, is the district president of the Nepali Congress. Shrestha, who hails from Tansen Municipality-2, Narayansthan, is involved in Nepali Sangh politics and has been the president of the Tribhuvan Multiple Campus Palpa under Tribhuvan University, a central member of Nepali Sangh, a general convention representative, a member of the Mahasamiti and became the district president.
