The National Independent Party (NISP) has given a ticket to former CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board and tourism entrepreneur Dhananjay Regmi in Syangja-1.

In the 2079 House of Representatives elections, Congress' Raju Thapa won from the constituency. 

Thapa got 31,999 votes, while his rival UML's Narayan Prasad Marasini got 28,744 votes. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) came in third. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) candidate Bodhraj Regmi got 6,065 votes.
