While the Sher Bahadur Deuba faction of the Nepali Congress is engaged in litigation and street protests, Shekhar Koirala, who belongs to the same group, is standing in favor of elections.

Addressing a gathering of party workers in Kathmandu today, Koirala said he would participate in the election to be held on Falgun 21. He informed that he had requested the Election Commission to postpone the nomination date of Magh 21 to facilitate the election, and said that although the government should create an environment for the election and guarantee security, it has not been guaranteed so far.

Koirala also said that since the dispute in the party has entered the court, he will accept the court's decision. He also instructed the leaders and workers to prepare for the 15th general convention along with the election.
