NCP gives ticket to Chauhan in Arghakhanchi

Ram Bahadur Chauhan, a central member of the Nepal Communist Party, has become a candidate for the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21.

Chauhan of Malarani Rural Municipality-5, Bangi, is contesting the parliamentary elections for the first time. He started his political journey as a member of the UML-affiliated ANNFSU in 2049 BS. He became the Panini Multiple Campus SWU President in 2050 BS, All District President and Central Member in 2050 BS. He became the District President and Central Member of the Youth Association in 2054 BS and UML District Secretariat Member and Youth In-charge in 2056 BS.

Chauhan, who won the District Committee Secretary position at the 7th UML District Convention in 2069 BS, rebelled in 2077 BS and became the District President of the CPN Unified Socialist Party. He is a central member of the CPN formed after the merger of the CPN-S and the Maoist Center. He has also played a role in the social sector. He has worked as the Central Senior Vice President of the Nepal Accountants and Lawyers Association, the Chairman of the Arghakhanchi Hospital Development Committee, and the Chairman of the Community Police Service Center for a long time.

The NCP's district committee had recommended the names of eight others, including former National Assembly member Chandra Bahadur Khadka. After Khadka supported Chauhan, other candidates also withdrew.
