The National Assembly meeting has been adjourned after passing a condolence motion for the death of Congress MP Baldev Bohra. The 19th session of the National Assembly began on Sunday.
In the first meeting of the session, Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal read out the letter convening the session from the President. He then presented a condolence message for the recently deceased MP Bohara.
President Ram Chandra Poudel had called the session of the National Assembly on the recommendation of the Government of Nepal and the Council of Ministers on December 28, in accordance with Article 93 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal. The 18th session of the National Assembly ended on September 31.
Bohara, a member of the National Assembly, passed away on December 30, at the age of 74. He became a member of the Constituent Assembly in the second Constituent Assembly election and became a member of the National Assembly in the election held in 2080.
The meeting was held at the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Singha Durbar, as the Parliament building at the International Conference Center in New Baneshwor was destroyed by fire during the Genji Movement.
