Nepali Congress acting president Purna Bahadur Khadka has said that it is impossible to think of anything other than the tree election symbol. Khadka, who led the party of former president Sher Bahadur Deuba from the Election Commission to the Supreme Court after Gagan Thapa was elected as the party president at the special general convention, said that it is impossible to think of anything other than the tree election symbol.
On Sunday evening, Khadka wrote on social media, 'I cannot think or imagine anything other than the tree as the election symbol. I sincerely request and appeal to all the party friends, well-wishers and our common respected voters not to follow the false rumors in the market like opening a new party, standing as an independent candidate.'
The Election Commission had updated the details of Gagan Thapa as the President of the Nepali Congress. Against that, the Nepali Congress led by Khadka has reached the Supreme Court. On this issue, he wrote, 'We have gone to the Supreme Court today with the confidence of getting justice on behalf of everyone as per the unanimous decision of the Central Working Committee meeting held at the party's central office, Sanepa, on 30 Magh 2082.'
Khadka also wrote that the decision of the Supreme Court is acceptable to them. After Thapa was elected as President of the Nepali Congress, the leaders of the Deuba faction are dissatisfied. Some leaders from Deuba's side have started to open up, saying that they should go to the elections under Thapa's leadership instead of getting involved in the litigation.
