Nepali Congress's Sher Bahadur Deuba faction has reached the Supreme Court.
After the Election Commission recognized the new working committee led by Gagan Thapa, elected from the special general convention, the Deuba faction has approached the Supreme Court demanding that the decision be annulled.
Senior advocate Khamma Bahadur Khati informed that the Supreme Court has been approached with a writ petition led by leader Purna Bahadur Khadka. According to him, the writ petition has been submitted and is under study.
The Deuba faction has been calling the general convention illegal, saying that the special general convention supporters called the general convention against the law and elected a new working committee.
