Various fraternal organizations close to the Nepali Congress surrounded the District Election Office at the district headquarters on Sunday in protest against the Election Commission's granting of legitimacy to the special general convention.

Protesting against the decision of the commission, activists from the home district of former party president Sher Bahadur Deuba surrounded the election office and staged a protest. They protested against the commission's decision to grant legitimacy to the party led by Gagan Kumar Thapa, who was elected at a special general convention. They shouted slogans claiming that the commission's decision was conspiratorial and wrong. They said that they were not against the opposition party or individual, but against the wrong decision of the commission. During the siege, representatives of various organizations stated that they remained loyal and loving towards the party. However, they said that they were standing against the wrong decision of the commission. They also demanded that the Election Commission be present to protect fairness, transparency and democratic values ​​in the election process. They warned that the movement would be strengthened further if their demands were not addressed.
