Congress leader Dr. Narayan Khadka, who is contesting from Udayapur Constituency No. 1, has requested that his name be removed from the candidate recommendation list.

Khadka, who is also a former minister, has requested the Nepali Congress Central Office to remove his name in a Facebook status.

Khadka, who is on the list of candidates proposed by the Nepali Congress Koshi Province Working Committee for the House of Representatives member election to be held on Falgun 21, has requested to remove his name. He has requested the concerned body of the central office to inform him of his request.

‘Since my name has also been included in the proposed list of candidates for the House of Representatives member of Udayapur Constituency No. 1 from the Nepali Congress Koshi Province Working Committee, I request you to inform the concerned body of the central office about my letter so that my name can be removed from the list,’ Khadka wrote on his Facebook.

Along with Khadka, the names of Laxmi Pariyar and former district president Bidur Basnet have been recommended for the candidacy. Khadka, who first contested and was defeated in the House of Representatives in 2056, has won in 2064, 2070, 2074, and 2079 and has also served as a minister several times.
