The Nepali Communist Party has nominated leader Lekhnath Neupane as its candidate from Gorkha Constituency No. 2 in the upcoming House of Representatives elections.

NCP coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal has given Neupane a direct ticket for Gorkha constituency number 2.

Neupane, who was the then chairman of the All Revolutionary Party of the Maoists, is a central member of the NCP. There had been demands to make him a candidate before.

Similarly, the NCP has nominated Hariraj Adhikari as its candidate from Gorkha 1. This is the first time since the 2007 Constituent Assembly that the NCP and the then Maoists have sent their candidates to both constituencies. Earlier, they had been coordinating in Gorkha.
