The 19th session of the National Assembly is beginning from Sunday, Magh 4. The session will be held at the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Singha Durbar, as the parliament building located at the International Conference Center in Naya Baneshwor was burnt down during the Gen-G movement.
Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal had called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee on Friday to prepare for the convention. In the first meeting of the convention, Chairman Dahal will read out the letter convening the convention from the President and present a condolence motion for Nepali Congress lawmaker Baldev Bohara, who passed away recently.
Parliament Secretariat Spokesperson Ekram Giri informed that all preparations for the convention have been completed. President Ram Chandra Poudel had called the National Assembly convention on Sunday, Magh 4 at 11:00 AM, on the recommendation of the Government of Nepal and the Council of Ministers on Poush 28, in accordance with Article 93 (1) of the Constitution. The 18th session of the National Assembly ended on Bhadra 31.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has also prepared for the election of 19 members of the National Assembly on Magh 11. The Commission has stated that one member of the National Assembly has been elected unopposed.
