Nepali Communist Party leader Barshaman Pun has said that the Election Commission should pay attention to how the information technology sector is monitored in the upcoming elections.

Speaking at a discussion program organized by the Election Commission on the election code of conduct, leader Pun also suggested that the Commission should arrange a reliable mechanism for monitoring the election code of conduct.

Leader Pun said that the Election Commission should pay special attention to preventing the misuse of information technology to conduct the election fairly. He also commented on the public statements made by Prime Minister Sushila Karki and various ministers. He said, 'We are hearing from outside - speeches made by the Prime Minister and ministers saying that such and such should be made to win, such and such should be defeated. How do you view this? There is now a non-party government. There are various levels of government - provincial government, local government. There are good provisions in the code of conduct on this issue. But will it be implemented or not?'
