UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that it is a sad matter that the Nepali Congress is moving towards division and questioned why the Congress leaders have done this deliberately. He made these comments while speaking at the UML Capital Province Committee announcement program.
He said that democracy has been violated, the system has been damaged and the constitution has been weakened, and accused the Nepali Congress, which should be concerned about these issues at a time like this, of getting caught up in unnecessary fighting. He said, ‘Who is doing this? Why are such things happening?’
Addressing the UML leaders, Oli urged them to leave aside minor grievances and move forward. He said, ‘Now is the time to fight for the country.’ He also said that the time has come to fight to protect peace, the constitution and democracy.
Commenting on various people acting out, he said, ‘Someone enters from nowhere, becoming a hero. How do we feel when we ourselves come out waving the flag and saying that we are heroes while the democracy that was brought about through so much sacrifice, struggle and sacrifice and the country is burning?’
Oli also raised the question of whether the intellectual world is responsible for the country. He said, ‘The respect of the country and the constitution has been taken away. Is democracy only needed by the leaders of political parties?’
