After the Gagan Thapa-led Nepali Congress gained power, the Sher Bahadur Deuba faction has raised slogans against the Election Commission.

Leaders and cadres of the Deuba-led Tarun Dal and Nevisangh, including the party's youth wing, raised slogans demanding the resignation of the acting Chief Election Commissioner. The meeting of the commission held today officially recognized Thapa's side. After that, leaders of the Deuba-led party, Purna Bahadur Khadka, Prakash Man Singh, Prakash Sharan Mahat and others, walked out saying they did not accept the commission's decision. Immediately, Congress cadres started raising slogans. The Kantipath area is now becoming quiet.
