Nepali Congress leader and then House of Representatives member Shyam Ghimire has claimed that he was not involved in inciting the General Secretary and Joint General Secretaries to take action.

Stating that he was not involved in the internal dispute within the party, he said that he did not play any role in taking action against the then General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa, Bishwaprakash Sharma and Joint General Secretary Formula Mansur.

He said that he had taken the initiative to resolve the dispute within the party and maintain unity. Stating that he has always been in favor of greater unity of the Congress, Ghimire said that he had also suggested President Sher Bahadur Deuba to be in favor of unity.

'I was not even in the meeting hall when the proposal for action was made and the decision was taken in yesterday's central committee meeting. I had already left when the decision to take action was made. It is wrong to add my name to it,' Ghimiri said.
