Nepali Congress leader Chandra Bhandari has called the latest controversy within the party "extremely sad."

Admitting that all efforts to keep the party united have failed, he said that this will cause great damage to the Congress.

On Wednesday, making his brief but serious views public through social media, leader Bhandari said that there is no alternative to learning from the bitter experience of the past and coming together. 'Very sad!!! A great loss to the Congress!!! We will come together one day, which is the experience of the past,' he wrote, 'but tireless efforts could not succeed.'

Bhandari gave this response regarding the situation that arose after the Sher Bahadur Deuba faction within the Congress took action against the leaders, including the general secretaries, who were in favor of a special general convention. He expressed regret that although he tried until the last moment to save the party from division, it could not succeed.
