Addressing the special general convention, Gagan Thapa, a leader in favor of the special general convention of the Nepali Congress, has argued that the Election Commission should recognize the decision they have made.

He claimed that the Commission would recognize it because the majority of the general convention representatives were present and made the decision.

‘We tried until the last moment,’ he said, ‘that meeting. I have faith in the Election Commission and the law and all institutions. The Election Commission should recognize what came from the special general convention.’

He also said that no one came saying ‘Come’ and no one left saying ‘Go’. He claimed that the Sher Bahadur Deuba faction had first sent a letter to the Election Commission and invited them for talks.
