Voting for the leadership selection from the special general convention of the Nepali Congress is scheduled to begin at 8 pm on Wednesday.
The election committee formed by the Nepali Congress special general convention has issued a notice and informed that the voting will begin at 8 pm.
According to the election committee, the publication of the first list of names will be done by 4 pm, the objections to the claims after the candidates will be done by 4:30 pm, and the investigation of the claims against the candidates will be done by 5 pm, informed the coordinator of the election committee, senior advocate Sitaram KC.
Similarly, the publication of the re-list of names will be done by 5:05 pm, the withdrawal of candidate nomination registration will be done by 5:35 pm, the publication of the final list of candidates will be done by 6 pm, and the voting will begin at 8 pm, said the coordinator of the election committee. In the election to be held as per the old statute of the party, voting will be held for one president, two vice presidents, two general secretaries, eight joint general secretaries, and 121 member posts.
The election committee was formed under the coordination of senior advocate KC as per the arrangement of a five-member election committee in the working procedures made by the special general convention.
There are 4,743 voters in the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress, and excluding those who have passed away and joined other parties, there are currently 4,635 delegates to the General Convention.
