NCP United forms 1001-member election mobilization committee

The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has formed a 1,01-member election mobilization committee under the coordination of Chairman Chandradev Joshi and Acting Chairman Ghanashyam Bhusal for the elections to be held on Falgun 21.

The central committee meeting of the United Party held on Monday has directed the party to form an operational committee from the center to the district level and prepare for the election. Similarly, the United Party has sought suggestions from all levels to send in writing the issues that should be included in the manifesto to clearly state the party's views in the upcoming elections. The meeting has set the criteria for direct candidacy. The criteria have been set to give priority to those who are not disqualified according to the election law, have a good image in society, are loyal to the party, and are young.

'Candidates will be selected based on the recommendations made by the provincial committee. Therefore, it is a special request to prepare for direct candidacy by keeping the following criteria in mind,' the circular sent to the lower committee said.

National Convention postponed

The party meeting decided to organize the national convention on Magh 3 and 4, 2082 BS, but the general convention has been postponed as Magh 6 is the day for filing nominations for the House of Representatives elections. "A situation has arisen where the currently scheduled national conference will have to be postponed to a later date. Therefore, it has been decided to organize the national conference at an appropriate time after the election," the NCP United decision said.
