After breaking its unity with the National Independent Party (NISP), the Ujjaya Nepal Party has appointed Kulman Ghising as its president.

The party was registered with the Election Commission under the name of Chairman Anup Upadhyay.

Ghising was preparing to go to the upcoming elections as the Vice President of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). But after the agreement with the RSS, UNEPA made him the president.

The RSSPA says that the unity was broken after Ghising made demands contrary to the agreement reached on Poush 14.

Ghising and RSSPA President Ravi Lamichhane held discussions on Friday and Saturday to reach a concrete agreement.

UNEPA has called an emergency meeting of the central committee today. UNEPA central member Kiran BK said that Ghising will present his views in the capacity of president at a press conference to be held at the central office at 6 pm.
