The second meeting of the Central Committee held on Saturday approved the necessary amendments to the party regulations and the decisions made by the Central Secretariat meeting, said Min Bahadur Shahi, head of the Central Publicity Department.
The second central committee meeting of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has concluded. The details of the expenses incurred during the 11th National General Convention were made public in the meeting held in Lalitpur today.
The meeting concluded with the approval of the necessary amendments to the party regulations and the decisions taken by the Central Secretariat meeting based on the amendments made to the party statute by the party's second statutory general convention and the UML Central Publicity and Publication Department Chief Min Bahadur Shahi.
He said that about eighty million rupees were spent in the meeting as per the expenditure details of the 11th National General Convention. Similarly, in the meeting, Chairman KP Sharma Oli distributed certificates to the elected office bearers and central members of the party from the 11th National General Convention.
Shahi, the head of the Publicity Department, said that attention was drawn to holding elections in a fear-free environment in the meeting. He also informed that the party has decided to take the agenda of parliament restoration and the election together. 'Since the effective environment for elections has not yet been created, it has been decided to take the agenda of parliament restoration and the election together,' he said.
Addressing the meeting, Party Chairman Oli said that the general convention brought 31 percent new faces to the leadership, and 34 percent of the leaders are below the age of 50. Although the meeting was scheduled to last three days, it was held only today due to preparations for the election.
