The press conference called by Nepali Congress working president Purna Bahadur Khadka has been abruptly postponed.

Khadka had called a press conference to publicize the party's institutional stance on the call for a special general convention by the two general secretaries.

A press conference was called at the party's central office BP Smriti Bhawan, Sanepa, at 1 pm, but it was suddenly postponed, informed party Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel.

Just yesterday, the Central Working Committee had appealed to withdraw the special general convention, saying that it can only be called by the decision of the party's Central Working Committee.

It was also decided that there was no justification for a special general convention when the schedule for the regular general convention had already been announced.
