The Independent Left Group led by Giriraj KC has joined the Nepal Communist Party (NCP). They joined the party at a program organized in Kathmandu today.
The leaders including KC were welcomed by NCP Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Co-Coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal and Leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
Those who will be included include Giriraj KC (candidate for the provincial assembly from UML), Dhruv Acharya, Kaluram Chaudhary, Durga Dutt Sharma, Damodar Adhikari (former mayor, Ghorahi Municipality), R.D. Yadav, Pitambar Acharya and others. KC, a long-time leftist leader from Dang, left the UML last Jestha.
Although he became a tainted candidate for the House of Representatives in Dang Constituency No. 4 in 2051 and Constituency No. 3 in 2056, he could not win. Similarly, in the last provincial assembly election, he became a candidate from Dang 2(2) from UML and suffered defeat once again.
The secretariat of NCP Coordinator Dahal has stated that other leaders active in various districts including Dang through the Independent Left Group will be welcomed in Kathmandu and the remaining cadres will be welcomed through a program organized in the district.
