The Election Commission is set to print ballot papers for the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21 from Friday. The commission has stated that ballot papers for the proportional electoral system will be printed in the first phase.

The number of parties participating in the proportional representation election has been finalized. 58 parties have submitted their closed lists of candidates to the commission. The commission's spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said that the ballot papers will be prepared with the election symbols of all 58 parties.

This time, there are 18.93 million 689 voters. The ballot papers will be printed by increasing the number of voters by 5 to 10 percent. Preparations have been made to print the ballot papers at the Janak Shiksha Samagi Kendra press with high security arrangements. The press has been tested before printing the ballot papers.

Spokesperson Bhattarai said that the printing of the model ballot papers required for voter education has been done. The commission has stated that the ballot papers will be on white paper with the election symbols in black. The ballot papers for the proportional representation will be of the same size across the country. After the nomination process for direct candidates is completed on Magh 6, the printing of direct ballot papers will begin based on the number of candidates per constituency.
