UML has withdrawn the name of Som Portel, who was on the proportional closed list, and nominated him as a candidate for the National Assembly member from Koshi Province. He is the fifth male candidate from the Dalit cluster and was nominated as a candidate for the National Assembly member on Wednesday.
Portel has already applied to be removed from the proportional list.
UML Election Commission Chief Niraj Acharya said that Portel has already applied to the commission to have his name removed from the closed list. ‘Som Portel has already applied to the commission to be removed from the proportional list. Another name will be sent in his place,’ he said.
