RSP proportional candidate Dr. Ramji Ram has announced that he will withdraw his name from the closed list. In a statement issued on social media on Wednesday, Dr. Ram, who is also an activist, informed that he has voluntarily decided to withdraw his name.
He said that he took this decision keeping in mind the self-respect and long-term representation of the Dalit community.
'Keeping the pride, self-respect and long-term representation of the Dalit community at the center, I inform you that I have decided to voluntarily withdraw my name from the proportional closed list,' he wrote, 'Even in a different role, I will continue to raise my voice firmly as always in favor of Dalit rights, social justice, democratic values and good governance.'
Dr. Ram was recommended as the fourth number in the Dalit cluster on the proportional side of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Along with Ramji, 8 people have withdrawn their names from the closed list.
