NCP leaves National Assembly alliance, agreement reached between Congress, UML and Madhesi parties

What you should know

After failing to reach an agreement with the Maoists on the number of seats in the National Assembly, a new equation has been formed between the UML, the Congress, and the Madhesi parties.

On Tuesday, there was a broad agreement to give 7 seats to the Congress, 7 to the UML, 3 to the Maoists and 1 seat to the LOSPA/JSP. But the agreement could not be reached after the demand for a minimum of 4 seats was made to balance the internal balance within the Maoists.

Then, on Wednesday morning, a new agreement was reached that the Congress would get 9 seats, the UML 8 and the JSP/LOSPA 1 seat. The name of Mahant Thakur has been recommended by the LOSPA.

Meanwhile, the meeting of the Congress Central Working Committee held this morning has also decided on the candidates for the National Assembly.
