Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has said that he will not engage in active power politics.
Speaking on Kantipur Television's program ' Fireside ', Bhattarai said, 'Now, the new generation has come. It is my well-considered opinion that they should be taken forward. I will no longer do active power politics. I will not stand for candidacy. I will not be a candidate in the election.'
He said that he will support the new alternative, progressive, progressive and democratic current.
Stating that the foundation of the state, its institutions and political parties has been weak since Bhadra 24, he also said that this is not the case now. 'Elections must be held otherwise this democracy will fall into a trap,' he said, 'but still, there is no way to be sure.'
He also said that foreign powers have repeatedly played a role in causing political instability in Nepal. Stating that forces inside and outside the country were trying to prevent the elected government from even holding elections, he recalled that he was under intense pressure from various forces to prevent the elections he himself announced as Prime Minister in 2069. Bhattarai also revealed that the then President had warned of a 'coup' through the Chief of Army Staff. Bhattarai, who announced a party called Naya Shakti Nepal in 2073 BS to lead alternative politics, compared the then party with the current National Independent Party and suggested that the Rashtriya Swatantra Party should be even stronger ideologically. He said that although the coming together of Ravi Lamichhane, Balendra Shah and Kulman Ghising is positive, its future will be determined by the similarities in the tendencies and thoughts of the three characters.
