The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which won two of the three constituencies in Chitwan in the previous election for the post of member of the House of Representatives, is yet to recommend its candidates. The Congress, UML, CPN (Maoist) and RPP have already recommended the names of aspirants.

In the 2079 elections, while the RSP won in two constituencies, the RPP won in one constituency, Chitwan-3.

UML has recommended the names of potential candidates only in Chitwan-1 to the district. UML is preparing to hold a meeting of constituencies 2 and 3 on Tuesday to recommend the names of candidates. While UML recommended the names of 6 people from Chitwan-1, the name of Surendra Pandey, the party's central leader who has been a candidate in three consecutive elections since 2070 BS and won two other elections except 2079 BS, is not included in that constituency. This is also why Chitwan-1 is currently in the news.

Pandey, who has already become the central vice-chairman of UML, was the candidate for the post of general secretary in the general convention this time. Pandey, who was defeated by party chairman KP Sharma Oli as a candidate from a panel other than his own constituency, was not even nominated as a candidate in his own constituency. While speaking at the UML election campaign rally held in Bharatpur while he was a candidate in the 2079 BS elections, party chairman KP Sharma Oli had even sarcastically said that Pandey had first lost his way and later stood in the right place.

In the 2079 BS elections, Pandey, a former finance minister and twice-elected from the same constituency, who contested from Chitwan constituency number 1 from UML, and Bishwanath Poudel, who resigned from the post of vice-president of the National Planning Commission and contested from Congress, were well-received. But Hari Dhakal of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) won the election by a wide margin. While Dhakal won by securing 34,218 votes, Pandey, who came second, secured 26,634 votes. Poudel of the Congress got 25,022 votes.

Pandey of the UML had also won in the second election for the Constituent Assembly member in 2070 BS and the House of Representatives member election in 2074 BS. The UML had also won in the first Constituent Assembly member election in this constituency. Currently, UML has recommended the names of six people, including party district president Kamal Pathak, in this constituency. Others, including Dhakal, are also in the news from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). But the party has not recommended any names.

‘Other friends in constituencies 1 and 3 have also expressed their interest. We are not aware of these names as they will go directly to the center now. The names will be made public when the primary election is held for the selection of candidates,’ said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) district president Krishna Prasad Bhusal.

Bhusal said that party president Ravi Lamichhane will contest in constituency 2. Lamichhane had won by a wide margin over the competing candidates in the 2079 BS and subsequent by-elections.

In the 2079 BS elections, Lamichhane won by getting 49,300 votes, while the second-placed Congress’s Umesh Shrestha got 14,988 votes and the third-placed UML’s Krishna Bhakta Pokharel got 14,652 votes. The by-election was held after the court rejected Lamichhane's candidacy in Chitwan-2 in the citizenship dispute, which became the Home Minister after he was elected. Lamichhane also contested the by-election in 2007 and won by getting 54,176 more votes than before.

In the by-election, both the Congress and the UML received fewer votes than before in Chitwan-2. While Jit Narayan Shrestha of the Congress received 11,214 votes, Ram Prasad Neupane of the UML received 10,936 votes. In the 2079 election for the House of Representatives, there were no candidates from the Congress or the UML in Chitwan-3. In that election, the Congress supported the then Maoist candidate Dr. Bhojraj Adhikari and the UML supported the Congress central member Dinesh Koirala, who had contested independently.

In the election, Bikram Pandey of the RPP won by getting 35,60 votes. Dr. Adhikari of the Maoist who came second had 25,824 votes. Dinesh Koirala, supported by UML, came in fourth with 12,275 votes, while Jita Baral of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) came in third with 14,843 votes. The RPP has again recommended Pandey's name as a single candidate in this constituency. "Balram Khanal's name has been recommended in Chitwan-1 and Bikram Pandey's name in 3," said RPP District Vice President Jiwalal Puri.

The RPP has recommended Puri, Rina Gurung and Jagdishwar Adhikari's names in Chitwan-2. In Chitwan-3, the NCP has recommended Bharatpur Metropolitan City Mayor Renu Dahal as a single candidate. Dahal, who was elected mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City twice as a candidate from the then Maoists, is making her first attempt to become a member of the House of Representatives. Chitwan-3 includes the area from Bharatpur, the headquarters of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, to the west, and Madi Municipality.

Dahal became mayor of the metropolitan city both times with the support of the Nepali Congress. Renu's father Pushpa Kamal Dahal was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Chitwan-3 in 2074 with the support of UML. There was talk that Pushpa Kamal Dahal would contest from the same constituency in the 2079 elections as well. But he went to Gorkha at the last minute. This time, Renu Dahal has decided to contest the House of Representatives election based on her eight years of work as mayor of Bharatpur.

Dahal's single recommendation has been made in Chitwan-3, Drona Babu Siwakoti, Pratap Gurung and Shiva Bhattarai in Chitwan-2, and 13 names including Bagmati Province Assembly member Krishna Khanal and Rapti Municipality Mayor Shamsher Lama in Chitwan-1, said NCP leader Ram Chandra Adhikari.

Sobita Gautam's name is also in the news from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Chitwan-3. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chitwan President Krishna Prasad Bhusal said that other names, including Sobita, are also in the news from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Chitwan-3.

The Congress has recommended the names of 11 people in Chitwan-1, 10 including the party's district president Rajeshwor Khanal in Chitwan-2, and 13 people including Congress central member Dinesh Koirala, who was defeated in 2079 BS despite being supported by the UML, to the center.

The Congress sent the recommendation to the center on Mangsir 25. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will finalize the names of those who will be direct candidates for the House of Representatives by the end of Poush, said the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) district president Krishna Prasad Bhusal.
