Nepali Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal has claimed that the country is being run by an invisible force.
Addressing a party unity rally held in Khandbari, Sankhuwasabha on Friday, Dahal also said that people's rights and democracy are weakening. 'The power to run the country is not visible, but it is controlling everything,' former Prime Minister Dahal said, 'This is why people's rights and democracy are weakening.'
He strongly objected to the leaders of newly formed parties threatening old leaders to show off their great power and announcing unification.
Dahal said that while other parties have not yet been reformed, the Nepali Communist Party has moved forward by introspecting. 'We will not betray the people,' he said, 'We are ready to walk with the youth, we are not afraid of competition.'
He expressed his determination that they will not rest until a new political force is formed to save the nation, provide security to the people and protect the country. Dahal mentioned that it is inevitable to move forward by keeping both of Nepal's neighboring countries in balance. He said that a clear policy is necessary in favor of national independence and the interests of the country. 'Relations with neighbors should be balanced, neither bowing down nor exalting,' he said. Addressing the
program, party co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal acknowledged past weaknesses and pledged to move forward with reforms in line with the people's sentiments. 'Now we will bring real change in the lives of the people,' he said, 'Our main goal is to end corruption and ensure good governance.'
Nepal said that the party will move forward in the direction of winning the trust of the people by making it people-oriented, transparent and responsible. He mentioned that it is the responsibility of the communist movement to give hope to the people who are disappointed with the current political situation.
Leaders from the central, provincial and local levels also addressed the meeting and expressed the view that party unity, political stability and a determined struggle for the people are necessary.
