Singer Trishala Gurung has withdrawn her name from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) proportional list. She said on Friday that she has decided to withdraw her name from the proportional list as she is determined to continue contributing to the arts and health sectors.
'After thorough self-evaluation, I would like to inform you that I have decided to withdraw from the candidacy. The main reason for this decision is my determination to continue to provide service in the arts and health sectors with full dedication to my professional responsibilities and to contribute to civil society and the community in an independent capacity,' she has made public on Facebook.
She has also expressed her commitment to always highly appreciate the trust, respect and support shown by the party and never let that trust weaken. Gurung has also said that even when she is not in political office, she will continue to contribute as per her ability and discretion as a voice of society, the health sector and the community.
Gurung was included in the proportional closed list of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) from the Indigenous and Nationalities Women Cluster.
