The name of Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the coordinator of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) in Kalikot, has been recommended for the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21. The party's regional committee meeting held on Thursday directly recommended only Dahal's name.
However, Coordinator Dahal has been recommended for the House of Representatives election from 10 constituencies so far. The district and constituency where he will be a candidate this time, who was elected from Gorkha-2 in the last general election, have not been decided.
There is talk of Khadka Bahadur Bishwakarma, a leader of the CPN-Maoist led by Netra Bikram Chand, also contesting the election in Kalikot, where the Maoists have been winning continuously since 2064.
Congress Yuva Bhupendra Jung Shahi and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Prakash Neupane Bhakarantai have already announced their candidacies from Kalikot while candidates from other parties are yet to be recommended.
