With the unification of the RPP led by Rajendra Lingden and the RPP Nepal led by Kamal Thapa, the monarchist and nationalist forces have been unified. At the event, the chairmen of both parties, Rajendra Lingden and Kamal Thapa, jointly released the unity manifesto. Earlier, on Poush 9, both leaders had signed a unity agreement at the RPP central office in Dhumbarahi.
After being defeated for the post of chairman in the RPP general convention of 2078 BS, Kamal Thapa left the party and formed the RPP Nepal.
