Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) President Rabi Lamichhane has said that if any names are included in the closed list for the proportional representation, they will be removed. At a press conference organized in Pokhara on Wednesday, President Lamichhane responded to the controversy over the inclusion of nepotism and illegal names in the party's closed list and said that the list will be reviewed.
‘We are aware. We are waiting to see if there are any other disputes due to time. If someone who should not have been included is included, if it is outside the rules in any way, that name will be removed,’ he said.
He clarified that the party’s constitution prohibits nepotism and has provisions regarding the right to recall. ‘The RSVP is clear on nepotism. The constitution itself does not allow it. Even if someone goes beyond all the rules, the RSVP’s constitution has made provisions regarding the right to recall,’ he added.
He admitted that there was a lack of time in the process of collaborating with Kulman Ghising and preparing the proportional list. He said, ‘The list had to be submitted there, and there was agreement on this. These are for various reasons. If there is any problem, we can look into it. We have said that we will look into it.’ He presented the collaboration of the RSVP, Balen and Kulman as a sharing of responsibility, not a division of labor.
