The commission has set a deadline of 12 midnight on Monday for submitting the closed list.

There is a provision that parties must deposit 50,000 while submitting the closed list. The commission has stated that the closed list of all political parties that have been processed will be understood.

As the parties do not submit the names within the office hours, the process of checking and understanding the closed list is going on till late at night.

The country has entered the election atmosphere as political parties submitted their candidate lists for the proportional electoral system for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for 21 Falgun. The hustle and bustle of political party leaders, activists, and supporters in the commission premises since morning has conveyed the message that the country has entered the election.

Out of the total 275 members of the House of Representatives, 110 are elected through the proportional electoral system. The respective parties get seats based on the votes received by the political parties, and the commission elects members according to the serial number from the inclusive clusters included in the closed list. There is a legal provision that only candidates from parties that receive three percent or more of the total valid votes under the proportional electoral system can be elected.
