Former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak arrives to give statement

The then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has arrived to give a statement to the commission of inquiry formed to investigate the incidents of 23 and 24 Bhadau.

After completing the statement, he has scheduled a program to brief journalists about the statement at the Congress Parliamentary Party office, Singha Durbar at 2 pm.

The inquiry commission formed under the leadership of former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki has completed its work. The commission had earlier taken statements from the heads of security agencies and heads of administrative agencies.

It had taken statements from the then Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, among others. Similarly, the statement of the Chief of Army Staff of the Nepal Army Ashok Raj Sigdel and IGP Chandra Kuber Khapung have also been taken.

The commission, which was initially given three months, was last extended by the government by one month. The commission will have to submit its report to the government in the first week of Magh.
