JSP Nepal and LOSPA have reached an agreement to unify the parties.
The decision to unify the parties was made at a joint meeting of the party leaders, including chairmen Upendra Yadav and Mahantha Thakur, held in Kathmandu on Sunday.
'It was decided to unify the JSP, Nepal and LOSPA Nepal parties by institutionalizing the federal democratic republican system, strengthening the issues of progressive change such as federalism, identity, proportional inclusion, social justice and embracing the need to build a just society,' said a statement signed by JSP Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav and LOSPA Chairman Mahantha Thakur.
Talking about the decision to merge the two parties, LSP leader Jitendra Sonal said that there will be further discussions on the name of the party and the organizational structure. 'The current agreement has decided that the party will be one, the election symbol will be one, and the candidates will be selected by consensus,' he said. 'It has been agreed that the name of the party and the organizational structure will be decided after further discussions.'
