The group led by Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra (Balen) Shah, which has merged with the National Independent Party (NISP), is set to submit a list of 40 to 42 candidates for the proportional representation (PR) seat.
According to the agreement reached at 4 am on Sunday after discussions till midnight on Saturday, the Balen group will get at least 38 percent share. Earlier, there was a discussion about 50 percent presence while reaching a lump sum agreement including Kulman Ghising.
Now, the Metropolitan City team is gathering to prepare a proportional list accordingly. The Nepal Gen-G Front team will also be included in this number, the source said. ‘Kumar Ben, Bhupdev Shah and others are discussing to prepare the list,’ said a leader. ‘Once this list is ready, Ravi Lamichhane and Balen Shah are preparing to sit down and finalize the final list.’
According to a leader, an agreement will be made later on ticket distribution in the same ratio.
For the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21, the parties will have to submit the closed list to the Election Commission by tomorrow.
