The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has recommended the name of central member and former YCL president Ram Prasad Sapkota (Deepshikha) for the House of Representatives from Bhaktapur-2.

Along with him, Shyam Kumar Basnet's name has also been recommended from here.

Durlabh Thapa of Nepali Congress was elected from Bhaktapur-2 in the 2079 election, defeating UML's Mahesh Basnet.
