The meeting of Nepali Communist Party Kaski Constituency No. 3 has unanimously recommended the name of party coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal for the direct election for the 21st Falgun election. Dahal's name was recommended as the number one candidate from the meeting held on Thursday.
Constituency No. 3 is Dahal's birthplace. He was born in Levade of Annapurna Rural Municipality and migrated to Chitwan. According to a leader who attended the meeting, Dahal was urged to contest from Constituency No. 3 in the last election as well.
After Dahal contested from Gorkha, this time the leaders here have urged him to contest from Kaski again. 'Everyone who had an opinion in the meeting was of the opinion that the coordinator comrade should be brought to Kaski 3 by any means,' the leader said, 'Since it is also his birthplace, it seems that other parties will also support him in contesting from here.'
Although the names of 5 people, including a Gen-G and a woman, had to be recommended to the district committee from the meeting, 15 people have shown their aspirations. Dahal's daughter-in-law Sirjana Tripathi has also shown her aspirations. Prakash Tripathi's wife is a relative of Hemja in Constituency No. 3, so she is active in party politics in Kaski.
Apart from him, former Constituent Assembly MP Durga BK, former provincial MP Ramji Baral, Balram Subedi, Bhanu Adhikari, Bhojraj Poudel and others have expressed their aspirations. After no consensus was reached on the names except Dahal, it was decided to recommend all the names to the district, said a leader who attended the meeting.
