The candidate selection and recommendation meeting of the NCP Nuwakot Constituency No. 1 on Wednesday unanimously decided to recommend former Minister Tamang as a candidate for the election to be held on Falgun 21.
Tamang is a two-time elected leader from Nuwakot 1. He won by defeating UML candidate Badri Mainali in the 2079 BS election and Congress candidate Ram Sharan Mahat in 2074 BS.
Tamang, who was born in Ghalebhanjyang, Panchakanya 3, Nuwakot, has been active in left-wing politics for a long time. He has been a minister twice. Tamang has held the responsibility of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation for a short period.
