At the inauguration of the Karnali Province-level security seminar jointly organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of the Karnali Province Government in Birendranagar, Surkhet today, Home Minister Aryal said that it is necessary to hold the elections on time to prevent a recurrence of conflict in the country.
‘Not only the current government, but also mainstream political parties have to get ready to hold elections,’ he said, ‘Our main strategy is to prevent a recurrence of conflict under any circumstances.’ According to him, preparations are being made for the elections to be held in a peaceful political environment, normalizing the country’s crisis situation.
‘The government has now made efforts to bring the youth of the genji community into the mainstream,’ he said, ‘Political parties also have to include the genji community.’ He said that since the mandate is to hold elections within six months of the dissolution of parliament, the elections will be held on Falgun 21, strengthening the security challenges. He said that despite the weather conditions, the election will be held on the same date as Falgun 21.
Noting that the martyrs of the Gen-G people's movement have been identified and their names published in the gazette and emphasis has been placed on providing relief to their families, Home Minister Aryal expressed the view that the Gen-G generation should be brought into the political mainstream to ensure prosperity, development and good governance.
