Oli told former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak that the election cannot be held without defining the electoral boundaries, banning political parties, and creating an environment of peace and security, according to his secretariat. Oli's stance was that the government should guarantee an environment where parties can go to the election fearlessly, candidates can campaign, and voters can vote without fear.
Nepali Congress President Deuba also raised the issue of peace and security with prominence. NCP Coordinator Dahal also said that the parties are ready to go to the election if the government creates the environment, according to his secretariat.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Karki said that all parties should cooperate to hold the election on time in the difficult situation, said Press Advisor Pokharel.
Prime Minister Sushila Karki and top leaders of the three parties, including former prime ministers, participated in the discussion called by President Poudel on Tuesday. Along with Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and NCP Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal also participated in the discussion. The discussion lasted for about 2 and a half hours.
